I couldn't see it from where I was. It got slightly darker out, but for the most part you'd have thought there wasn't one.

This was the start of it here in southeastern Georgia!
This was right when it was happening, incredible stuff! I didn't even need to wear my glasses to see it.

My home town wasn't in the totality shadow, but we were mighty close! We wound up with 97 percent of the sun occluded.
Here's a cool phenomenon: a shot of the way the thin crescent of the Sun can be imaged by shining through the branches and leaves of a tree. It's kind of a pinhole camera effect. If a patch of sidewalk is at just the right spot, an image (or multiple images, as in my picture) will come into focus. This pic was taken of the sidewalk outside the entrance to my apartment at 1:30pm CDT, at the peak of our eclipse. Every one of those crescent shapes is an image of the Sun.
