re: Jariel "Keren" Shemesh

Name: Jariel “Keren” Shemesh ((His middle name, Keren, is not common knowledge but is important for his story, please do not use it in RP unless he specifically gives it out.))

Age (at ATC 10): 46

Height: 5' 11''

Homeworld: Unknown

Profession: Jedi Knight (Guardian)

Master: Master Khelen Temril

Saber Colour: Blue

Service History: Jedi Knight Jariel Shemesh passed his trials at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant in 28 BTC, at the tender age of 18. He was on the Republic fleet scrambled to the Outer Rim in the wake of the Sith onslaught that year. He saw the destruction they wrought on world after world in the years after the puppet governments of Serndipal, Belkadan and Ruuria betrayed the Republic and revealed their true alliegance. Having returned to Coruscant to recover, he was sent out to Bothawui and was with the Republic fleet that demolished the paltry Sith forces sent there to conquer it. During these missions he encountered and worked closely with Jedi Knight Soraya Chasidah. Their relationship was intimate to the point of arousing suspiscion, though no physical intimacy was ever discovered. In 0BTC, Jariel was stationed on Coruscant when it was sacked (See private voice log, “Remembering Coruscant”). Though he survived, like all Jedi present, he bears the scars of its memory. Following the Treaty of Coruscant, he migrated to Tython with the rest of the Jedi. There, he encountered Jedi Master Jao Thaun and learned of the work of the Saints...((details to follow when story worked out))

Personality Profile: Jariel is a fiercely loyal Knight of the Republic. His missions on the frontlines of the Great Galactic War utterly convinced him of the depravity of the Sith. He therefore seeks to eradicate their way of life wherever he finds it, potentially to the point of becoming vengeful. What little joy he had through his intimate friendship with Soraya Chasidah during that time disappeared after the Sacking of Coruscant. She was last seen by him engaging the attacking Sith forces in the Jedi Temple, and he does not know whether she is alive or dead. He has found a measure of peace through the Force, but his mood is almost constantly one of pensive sorrow. The only break in this comes through battle. He relishes the art of combat, because it has become for him a form of meditation – action through which he can strongly connect with the Force and truly surrender his desire to see Soraya again.

Understanding of the Force: Jariel is an adherent of the Living Force, and extremely sensitive to the ebb and flow of life in his immediate surroundings. He is also innately aware of “shatterpoints” in the Force, whereby the fate of planets and even the galaxy may be changed if the right thing is done at the right time, in the right way, by the right person. His preferred saber style is Ataru – he favours overwhelming force over precision. His training as a Guardian has taught him to draw on the force to strengthen his constitution considerably and he is therefore extremely durable, able to fight for great lengths of time without his strength flagging. Though a student of the Living Force, his understanding of the present had grown to include the threads of the past and the near limitless possibility of the future.
