-OVERVIEW-
”To become a great Jedi, one must master being the student first”.

Rio Banchee is considered a master of ancient Jedi history and artifacts, however if asked; he would let you know “he is the student”. After his Knighthood, he spent over 85 years in the meditation chambers and Jedi Enclaves, as well as the combat training chambers of the Jedi Temple on Tython. Most recognized for his persistence on the battlefield, he has been known to take, what would seem as a defeat on the battlefield, to a victory.

-Early Life-

He was born in the late summer of 203 BTC, 100 years after the Jedi Civil War. An adept warrior, Rio-Banchee came from a long line of Kel Dor philosophers and warriors of Ashla. He was discovered at an early age of 2 years. This was unheard of at this time; however the most attuned Jedi Master's tested young Banchee. After the long struggle of the Jedi Civil War, the High Council concluded that this was a rare find indeed; and that the rebuilding efforts to restore the Order were too important at the time. All 12 members of the High Council voted and agreed for his training to begin.

Most Jedi Masters did not want to undergo Young Banchee as their Pawadan, due to the fact of his “Rough Justice” mentality and decisive action with little or no contemplation for re-percussive effects. You see, like many of his kind, Rio-Banchee has a strong sense of justice, as well as extrasensory organs that enhanced his mental powers. He tends to see issues in black and white /cause and effect, which is termed as "rough justice". A method of solving disputes quickly, that to non-Kel Dor seemed overly retributive and too close to vigilantism. Council of Reassignment stepped in at this time, and assigned him Jedi Master Bas Coal.

-Knighthood and Conflict of Dorin-

19 years later, The High Council sensed that if Rio Banchee could exercise his “Rough Justice” with controlled emotions, then he would pass his last trial for Knighthood. So with his homeworld in continuous chaos during the Dorin Conflict, Rio Banchee found himself deployed back to his homeworld with his Master. Their mission, to extinguish the battle-lines of the Darkside and their lackey Bounty Hunters; who where enslaving his people at that time and robbing the planet of its resources.

With much bloodshed between the Jedi and this evil faction, let alone the on-slaughter of the Kel Dorains, the battle lines were drawing closer than ever. Seeing that they could turn the tide of this conflict, Master Bas Coal sent Banchee deep behind the enemy lines with a few scout troopers for recon of the Sith and their supply-line movement. Once Rio Banchee reached the main camp of the Sith, where we witnessed his Kel Dor brethren being massacred at the hands of the dark sith lord, Darth Farcoln. Being challenged with emotions of complete anger and lost, Banchee employed a Force technique that is called Electric Judgment; which he learned in his early years, back when he was studying the Jedi Archives. To many Jedi, this seemed to be too close to the Force lightning.

However, this destroyed the Sith Lord and the Dark Lords minions, in a single action. Sensing that this had happened, Master Bas Coal came to his aid. Only to find the base in flames, all Sith faction immobilized or charred to ashes and Rio Banchee to what seemed to be a deadly coma, over his tribal leader’s dead body, his father. It is still unclear how or what has happen to his scouts, no personnel were ever found…

After the Conflict of Dorin, Master Bas Coal assigned the rest of the battalion to stay behind for rebuilding efforts of Dorin cities and the new construction of the Jedi Watchtower Temple, while he took his young Padawan back to Tython, for assistants. During their space voyage back to the temple, Master Bas Coal invoked an ancient Jedi Meditation ritual; which allowed him to reach his Padawan’s spirit. Because Banchee was trained how to retain his identity through the Force, Master and Padawan were able to commune to one another. Some Jedi High Council members believe that most of his Jedi training was done during this time. What some would say would be a few days in space travel, actually were decades of training to the mind and soul.

Eventually Rio Banchee regained his body, through the help of the High Council and his Master. Only after Banchee choose to sacrifice the separation of his body a little bit longer, to finish his training of the mind and become more attuned to Ashla. Rio Banchee was granted Knighthood. His Padawan training was completed; his trial was to learn to trust within the Force and not himself was infused within Rio. However he constructed his new lightsaber after his trial. He now wields a purple blade to this day, to remind him of the cost of feeding into his emotions; rather than trusting in the Force.

-Redemption and Jedi Master-

Initially after his promotion to Jedi Knighthood, the Jedi Council suggested that he take a Padawan learner or to take on solo missions, Banchee chose not to. Instead he requested the High Council allow the continuation of his studies. With much discussion amongst the High Council, they authorized his request. From 181 BTC – 96 BTC, he was found inside the Jedi Enclaves, Meditation Chambers and Combat Training Chambers of the Jedi Temple on Tython. Banchee was known to practice non-stop for days at a time, mastering the art of Jar’Kai combat, Ashla and Kel Dorian Martial Arts. Through his studies he became quite proficient in Mou kei, Sai',Flowing Water, Trispzest, Kai-kan and of course Jedi History.

In the Early Spring of 96BTC, Master Bas Coal contacted Rio Banchee with an argent message that he needed his assistance with a mission that the High Council had assigned him; requesting that Rio meet him on the moon of Onderon, Dxun. Within a few days, Master and Apprentice were amassed again. Seeing that Master Coal was ready to leave once the two had the chance to reunite. Rio found that they were heading deep into the core of the moon forest, on a mission to retrieve an ancient Jedi Artifact that was stolen from Jedi Archives on Coruscant; the Codex of Tython.

“All leads point to this moon and that of a Smuggler, who has been guided by a Sith Inquisitor, I feel his presence”, explained Bas Coal. After days of making their way through the thick jungle, both Coal and Banchee found themselves in front of an old abandoned Mandalorian base. Seeing that a hanger off in the distance showed signs of life and the Jedi sensed that the Darkside was close at hand; their lightsaber blades quickly illuminated the night’s sky. As they approached the doors of the hangers, they saw the Sith Inquisitor start unleashing a Force Storm technique on what seemed to be the smuggler, who had already handed off the Codex of Tython. The two Jedi acted quickly, as Bas Coal set-off to take on the Dark Inquisitor guards, Banchee immediately answered to the Sith Inquisitor with a Force jump putting him in-between The Sith and the smuggler. The two lightsabers connected for the first time, Rio force pushed the smuggler out of harm’s way as he confronted the Sith. He said:

“You will not survive this, lay down your arms and I shall let you answer for your crimes, honorably ”.

The Sith Inquisitor started to create a Force Whirl-Wind; as this was taking place, Banchee counter his move with a Force Repulse. After landing this maneuver, Rio instantaneously dropped into an Ataru stance charging the Inquisitor. Several calculated blows were given to each others defenses. This battle took them from one side to of the hanger and back. Sensing that his old Master had now become outnumbered by some other dark minions who had entered the hanger, Rio baited the Sith into a Flowing Water technique, which allowed him to have the Inquisitor pull this lightsaber back from a bind. Banchee continued to follow his blade, in effect causing the Sith to pull his blade into himself. Rio finished him with a Shiak technique to the throat.

After ensuring the Sith Inquisitor was dead, he came to his old masters side. Only to find a final strike of a saber pike igniting through his master’s chest. Rio instantaneously feeling what he once experienced when he lost his father, he immediately looked into the force for guidance. Sensing the Force talking through him, Banchee deployed a Force Wave, which literally destroyed the remaining dark forces, by crushing the minions into the rusty decaying walls of the hanger. The fighting had stopped, Rio collected the Codex of Tython off of the dead sith body and called for his ship’s captain to meet him at his location. As he waited, Banchee gathered the dead, including his old master’s body and found the smuggler, still in shock of what just happened and barely alive.

Once everything was on aboard and the Prisoner in his hold cell. Banchee contacted the Order to enlighten them on what just transpired. He immediately set-off to Coruscant for the funeral of Master Bas Coal and to debrief the Council.

As they traveled back to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant; he interrogated his new “guest”, with hopes of finding out more about these new Sith Inquisitors. Rio soon discovered his prisoner's family was held captive prior to being forced into extorting the Holocron from the Jedi Temple. Sensing the Prisoner was telling the truth, Rio told his captive, that he will still need to answer to the Order. However, he will request the High Council to look into the where-bouts of his family's location and see if he could rally a rescue mission.

(Only later, it was known that his family was murdered, once the Sith heard of the Dxun lost).

END OF HOLOCRON, more on Rio and Riddico Friendship and history of Rio Banchee joining of Saints..........
