Security Token v Phone App

So I have the physical security token that came with my game. But I was unable to post on the SWTOR forums from work because I didnt want to haul it around (small that it is). I decided to get the phone app instead.

I make a call to customer service and have them remove the link to the token. I download the app and proceed through the instructions to link it. I reach a point where it definitely is not working right so I call customer service back. I am then told that if you have token "A" linked to your account you are unable to link token "B". They do not have the ability to switch it yet.

So, if you are currently using the token or the app...and you wanted to switch to the other one. Save yourself the headache and leave it alone. Bioware does not currently support switching tokens. Once one is linked to you account your stuck with that one.

I did re-link the physical token with no issues.

Well they will need to fix that eventually. Those things don't last forever.

They should be able to unattach it because what if you lose your physical one, then you wont be able to get another one or do the apps one. I'm sure that they will work on that and get it where you can because with WoW they had to do that. I'm sure its just a matter of time before they find that there are others with the same issue and will fix it.

You are correct. Currently, if u lose your token you cannot add a new one. The best you could do is have the lost one unassociated with your account

I wonder how this is going to work if I switch from say the iPhone app to the android app. Or from my phone to my iPad.
